Stand out packaging for nearly 100 years
In the 1920s, Melbourne was not just booming, but modernising. Air travel was the latest thing, so at Essendon, the city was building its first airport. Down in Geelong, Model T Fords were being assembled at the new Ford Motor Company factory and in South Yarra, the PT Huggins Box Manufacturing company opened.
Today, that company is Australasia’s stand out packaging partner, with five plants and 770 employees in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland
2010 | Purchased the folding carton assets of Carter Holt Harvey. Colorpak now operate in New Zealand also. Acquired Remedies in NSW bolstering flexible capability within the Regents Park facility. |
2006 | Purpose built facility at Regents Park in NSW opened. Large capital expansion program completed. |
2004 | Colorpak floated on the ASX.Acquired Castle Graphics. |

2000 | Walter Commins retired. Sons Harry, Paul and Alex became the senior management team. Acquired Hale Foldpack in Sydney. |
1998 | Acquired Foilmasters in Melbourne. |
1996 | Purpose built facility at Braeside in Melbourne opened. |
1992 | Commins family purchased Colorpak from Walter Commins’ partners. |
1985 | Walter Commins and his business partners Charlie Cock, Brian Hoad and Joe Visalli purchased Colorpak. |
1950s | Company renamed Colorpak. |
1920s | PT Huggins established a cardboard box manufacturing plant in South Yarra Melbourne. |
